I went on Lowes website and it's only 1.3 HP. Why would you want to buy an air compressor with low hp for over $200? I normally use 6 hp 30 gallon and my other one is 5 hp 30 gallon. I may have to pass on this product. Also, never use an air compressor without water filter. You'd be surprise how much water goes through the air hose line before it reaches your tools.

The video does not show probably the most important part of the job - how to push the caliper pistons back in. A simple C-Clamp can be used for it, but if you do not know, you might have a have a very hard time.

Ok so can we get a 4 year follow up like how long did these bad boys actually hold up ? Or did the go the way of gen Monroe OE spectrum’s and completely fail after only 20K ?

I agree with you. I also feel like they should be used like a safety on a gun. OK to use it but don’t put 100% in it. I use them but also put a jack under as a secondary precaution. But that’s just me.

You can easily hydrotest the tank. There are all sorts of RUclips videos on how to do it. Piece of cake. If it leaks, drill a big hole in it and throw it away. I just did that to a 2hp Sears compressor I bought 49 years ago. I have hydro tested it every five years for the last twenty years. This time it sprung a small leak so I emptied it, spend two minutes with my cutting torch making sure nobody would be tempted to rescue it and threw it away after saving the motor and fittings.. The pump was beginning to make noises like rods knocking so it was also worn out. I hated to get rid of it. The pump ran at 733 rpm and the compressor was 80 dBA which is really quiet. It's hard to find a compressor as well built as that one was. I got lucky and bought it because it was on sale.

I still can't believe 100 - 120 lbs will do this kind of damage, these big blow ups happen because clever people think they'll get more out of their compressor and modify it , once you take the pressure switch out of speck it will do weird things DON'T mess with your pressure switch thinking you know more than the engineers who designed them, hey maybe you can put a higher value blowoff value or modify it, because you know exactly what spring to put in there NOT , DON'T modify the safety features of your compressor, 120 lbs will NOT cause a catastrophic failure even on a rusted tank

I bought a 26 gallon, 150psi Kobalt. I only will use to air up tires. I run up to 60 psi and turn it off
